Meet Candie Cooper

Candie Cooper started crafting at a very young age and hasn't stopped since. She was in high school when she discovered her love for making jewelry. After high school she went on to graduate from Purdue University with degrees in Art Education and Fine Arts and a minor in Art History. While in college, her emphasis was in jewelry and metalsmithing. Intrigued by combining metal with other materials such as wool, this is what led Candie to her felted jewelry series. In 2005, she started working as a freelance designer for various hobby publications. "truly have a passion for sharing my love of making fun and clever objects with others." Candie specializes in creating accessible mixed media jewelry and crafts with savvy design solutions and abstract color combinations. She single authored Felted Jewelry (Lark Books) which is a collection of twenty fabulous felted wearable projects including necklaces, rings, brooches, and bracelets. She is also the co-author of Designer Needle Felting which features trendy needle felted projects. Candie authors a column, The Savvy Crafter, in Simply Beads Magazine which provides readers with inspiring and clever ideas for constructing jewelry and accessories. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. She currently lives in Shenzhen, China where she works and teaches from her studio.
