Amy Barickman is a leader in the sewing and craft pattern design industry. After graduating from the University of Kansas with a degree in art and design, she founded Indygo Junction in 1990 to publish and market books and patterns designed with fresh, new talent. Amy’s vision for anticipating popular trends has led her to discover artists and guide them to create with innovative materials and tools.
As technology improved she envisioned what crafters might accomplish with their home computer and printer. She founded The Vintage Workshop in 2002 to create products that combine timeless vintage artwork with the computer and inkjet printable materials using downloads from her website and CDs.
To date Amy has identified and marketed more than 25 designers and published 600 pattern titles and 70 books. Many of her recent releases feature Clover's tools and products including Indygo Junction’s Needle Felting, Needle Felted Fashions, Needle Felted Accessories, and several patterns that feature Clover's Quick Yo-yo makers. Amy inspires countless crafters to open their own creative spirit and experiment with the newest sewing, fabric and crafting techniques.
Amy’s favorite Clover tools are the Felting Needle Tool and accessories and Quick Yo-yo Makers because they are perfect for both ready to wear and home décor embellishments.
Barickman’s work has been featured in several magazines including a recent honor as one of Country Living’s 2007 Women Entrepreneurs Celebration of Creativity. She has made television appearances on HGTV, America Quilts, and Sewing with Nancy.
