Fran's Favorites: Helpful Tools for Making Flower Frills

by Fran Ortmeyer

http://www.clover-usa.com/img/IMGfaves0.jpgYou know how much we love our new Flower Frill Templates. Well, I love them not only because of the fabulous embellishments they make, but also because I discovered while working with them that a few of our old stand-bys made the whole process even easier and more enjoyable.

http://www.clover-usa.com/img/IMGfaves2.jpgA must-have while making Flower Frills is our Desk Needle Threader (Art. Nos. 4071, Purple; 4072, Green; and 4073, Pink) to thread in advance several needles to have ready so when you hit your stride nothing interferes with the process. Once those needles are threaded I love loading my Dome Threaded Needle Case (Art. No. 625) with 10 threaded needles. The case stores them neatly and I know exactly where they are.

My favorite needle to use on Flower Frills is the Black Gold Applique Needles #9 (Art. No.  4970). These needles are a bit heavier and hold up well when working with so many layers of fabric. And the one item I don't think I could do without when making the flowers is the Ultimate Bent Scissors Ex-135B (Art. No. 4932). The curved blade makes cutting around the template petal smooth as can be.

These products are great to use with the Flower Frill Templates, and they’re just as great when working with all types of handwork projects.
